Everyday various people from different walks of life are faced with kidney failure, while only a minority of these people are fortunate enough to afford treatment for their illness.
We at ABWT plans to eradicate has established this class divide and to do so have established a Kidney Dialysis Centre at Tehsil Depalpur, District Okara in 2006. This is the only Tehsil-level Kidney Dialysis Centre operating in Pakistan absolutely free of cost. Between 7000 and 9000 dialysis are performed annually at this Dialysis Center using 11 Hemodialysis machines, alongside providing patients with care and counsel regarding their treatment.

Since its inception in 2003, ABWT has kept its doors open to those who have found themselves in misfortunate circumstances. ABWT has arranged for free treatment for thousands of underprivileged and helpless patients of Hepatitis, Kidney Failure, Heart Attack, Tuberculosis, orthopedics and Cancer. With the help of various generous philanthropists, and the Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal, the treatment of these patients has been carried out at the government hospitals of Pakistan such as Sheikhzayed Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, and Inmol Hospital among others

Pakistan is suffering from a water crisis that is expected to get more dire in the coming years. There are entire regions where clean water is inaccessible for the public and as a result, a number of health problems due to consuming unsafe water have arisen. ABWT is on a mission to provide clean drinking water to remote areas of Pakistan. Keeping in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, we embarked on a project to install water filtration plants. Beginning in 2016, we have installed 30 water filtration plants with the collaboration of our generous donors including the Embassy of Japan and the Embassy of Germany. Thousands of people benefit from these plants now have access to clean water for consumption.
Construction Of Toilets
Lack of access to proper sanitation facilities negatively impacts the health and wellbeing of society enabling diseases like typhoid, polio and cholera to flourish. It is estimated that 25 million people still practice open defecation. The lack of access to sanitation means women are the worst affected in terms of health and security as they are forced to go into unsafe areas. Keeping in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Ameer Begum Welfare Trust has built 100 toilets in areas that severely lack any sanitation practices. This is a first step to bettering hygiene in our rural areas. These toilets are constructed in schools, hospitals, health centers and other residential and public areas benefitting hundreds of people daily.

Distribution Of School Uniforms At Boongi Ram Singh High School
Ameer Begum Welfare Trust believes in providing quality education to girls and to overcome the disparity existing between the education of boys and girls. (Thirty-two percent of primary school age girls are out of school in Pakistan, compared to 21 percent of boys) To remedy this inequality we must support and encourage the education of girls at every level and ensure barriers to their education are dealt with time. In recognition of its services in the field of Education, the Government of Japan has awarded a High school building in the rural area of Boongi Ram Singh, District Okara to Ameer Begum Welfare Trust. Agreement for the School project was signed on 25th January 2012, between Mr.Hiroshi OE, the Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan and Mrs. Rubina Shaheen Wattoo, Chairperson of ABWT.
Our Boongi Ram Singh High School is educating 200 girls from kindergarten to Class 9. This is the only girls' high school in the area providing quality education and care. Every year the ABWT team visits the school to distribute curriculum booksas well as uniforms.
Vocational Training Institute
Due to drastically high and increasing unemployment Rates in Tehsil Depalpur and the rest of Disctrict Okara, ABWT conducted surveys to further explore this phenomenon. The lack of primary skills was found to be one of the most influential reasons for increasing unemployment.
To overcome the situation, in 2014 ABWT established a Vocational Training Institute in wasawewala, Okara, with the help of Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA). The Institute aims to empower women by training them in the skills of stitching, knitting and tailoring. Furthermore, in 2016, a Computer lab was established and a “Computer Training Course” was started, and soon after a “Social Entrepreneurship” course was also started.

In Islam Umrah is the wish of almost every Muslim. Ameer Begum Welfare Trust is aware of the importance of this Islamic responsibility and strives to help those perform this duty by sharing the financial burden and arranging for them a safe trip.
In the year 2013, Ameer Begum Welfare Trust Introduced the Umrah Sadat Program to fulfill the wishes of those who desire to perform Umrah. The trust arranges help for those coming from less means but a great desire to fulfill their duty towards Allah Almighty through performing Umrah. With the help of our gracious donors, we have arranged 7 Umrah Trips. So far 120 deserving people have benefited from the program.
Person with Disability
Ameer Begum Welfare has always taken a strong initiative towards the people with disability. In 2005, ABWT distributed 700 Wheelchairs, 100 tricycle shops and stipends among the underprivileged and needy disable members of our society.
This enabled many of these disabled people to start earning a livelihood for themselves. Many disabled members of society are deprived of the basic health care facilities such as wheelchairs.
ABWT took the initiative of working towards their well-being with the help of Turkish International Cooperation & Development Agency (TIKA). TIKA provided ABWT with 51 tricycles to assist the disabled members of our society
Disaster Relief
In 2005, Pakistan and neighboring Azad Kashmir were hit by a massive earthquake of a magnitude 7.6. This devastating earthquake affected lives in all areas of Kashmir, with the most severely damaged areas being Muzzafarabas and Bagh.
ABWT realized the dire need for help and proceeded to set up 10 tent villages in district Bagh. 1000 earthquake affected families were provided with food supplies, medical care, education and financial assistance at these tent villages.
Furthermore, after 8 months of establishing tent villages and providing the people with aid, ABWT held a collective marriages ceremony at Arja, District Bagh where daughters belonging to these affected families were wed. They were provided with basic necessities that they would need to start a new life. It is safe to assert that this function provided a ray of hope for the countless grief-stricken families in the area. This was the first time any such function was held in Azad Kashmir.
When large scale floods hit Sindh, ABWT did not delay reaching out to those affected. The Trust set up tent villages at district Sanghar and Nawab Shah, and provided relief in form of food, medicine, education, vocational training centers for women, and financial assistance to thousands of families. It is widely reputed that the tent villages of ABWT were the finest among all others in the area.The War on Terror had profound effects on the residents in Northern areas in Pakistan. Forced to leave their homes in Malakand Division, Swat, Dir and Buner these refugees fled to the plains. Thousands of families were displaced. ABWT was quick to respond to the pleas of people in this time of need, setting up tent villages at Shah Dund Baba in Mardan and helped 1000 families till they could move back to their houses, that they had to abandon earlier.

In the Holy Month of Ramadan, ABWT also arranges for Ijtemai Qurbani, to provide underprivileged people with meat. Ramadan is the only time many of these people get to eat meat in the entire year, so ABWT tries to cater to as many deserving people as possible each year.
Ramzan Ration Distribution
The Holy month of Ramadan is crucial to every Muslim’s life. Since 2003 Ameer begum welfare Trust has been organizing Ramadan Ration Program each year as it is customary to donate a portion of one’s wealth to the less fortunate.
ABWT in accordance with the need to eradicate poverty distributes ration packages to the poorest of the poor. In an effort to provide the less fortunate with basic items of everyday use, ABWT distributes Approximately 700 ration packs among deserving people every year in Ramadan.

Our Collective Marriage Project is a unique concept that was commenced in 2003 to remove the social nuisance of dowry in Pakistan. ABWT was thepioneer of this program that aids families of poor and orphan girls who areunder immense pressure due to financial hurdles and are unable to wed them to begin an essential part of their life. Majority of Pakistan’s population are low-income hard-working people who find themselves stressed owing to expectations due to dowry, leaving these parents hopeless in trying to fulfill their duty. ABWT has made it its mission to bring to light the true significance of this institution and reinstate the concept of a simple Nikkah in the society to relieve from such parents from financial burden and encourage others to follow.
Ameer Begum Welfare Trust has conducted successful marriage ceremonies of 950 couples without any bias of cast, creed or religion. The couples are gifted essentials of life such as beddings furniture, cooking utensils along with clothes for the bride and groom.
