Ameer Begum Welfare Trust (ABWT) was established in the year 2003 by Mrs. Rubina Shaheen Wattoo, Chairperson (ABWT). The objective behind the advent of this Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) is to provide humanitarian assistance to deserving families in Pakistan who require it and are most deserving of it.

Projects Merriage Help Ramazan Ration Project Helping Poor

  • Our Collective Marriages Project is a unique concept that was commenced in 2003 to remove the social nuisance of dowry in Pakistan. ABWT was the pioneer of this program that aids families of poor orphan girls who are grief stricken due to financial hurdles.

  • Since 2003 Ameer begum welfare trust has been organizing Ramadan Ration Project each year as it is customary to donate a portion of one’s wealth to the less fortunate. ABWT distributes Approximately 700 ration packs among deserving people every year in Ramadan.

  • Since 2003, ABWT has arranged for free treatment for thousands of poor and helpless patients of Hepatitis, Kidney Failure, Heart Attack, Tuberculosis, orthopedics and Cancer. With the help of various generous philanthropists, and the Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal.

Projects Sponsor Student ProgramSupporting PersonsRelief work in Earthquake.

  • Sponsor a Student Program aims at providing a 100 % literacy rate in Pakistan. This program was launched on 24th June 2005 in all provinces of Pakistan. With the cooperation of generous and kind-hearted people, ABWT has succeeded in sponsoring 300 students across Pakistan.

  • Ameer Begum Welfare has taken a strong initiative towards the person with disability, and distributed 700 Wheelchairs, 100 tricycle shop in 2005 and stipends among the underprivileged and needy disable members of our society. Turkish International Cooperation & Development Agency (TIKA) provided ABWT with 51 tricycles to assist the disabled members of our society.

  • Relief work in Earthquake in Azad Jammu and Kashmir in 2005, ABWT proceeded to set up 10 tent villages in district Bagh. 1000 earthquake affected families were provided with food supplies, medical care, education and financial assistance at these tent villages.

ProjectsAmeer Begum Kidney Dialysis Centre THQ depalurNoor Foundation UK

  • ABWT plan to eradicate this class divide and to do so have established an Ameer Begum Kidney Dialysis Centre THQ depalur, District Okara in 2006. This is the only Tehsil-level Kidney Dialysis Centre operating in Pakistan absolutely free of cost for our less privileged kidney patients. Around 7000 dialysis are performed annually at this Dialysis Center using 11 Hemodialysis machines.

  • The Noor Foundation UK provided ABWT with 4 Dialysis Machines for Ameer begum Kidney Dialysis Centre Depalpur in 2006.

Projects Floods Relief in Sindh in 2011Relief Efforts for Refugees

  • Floods Relief in Sindh in 2011, when large scale floods hit Sindh, ABWT did not delay reaching out to those affected. The Trust set up tent villages at district Sanghar and Nawab Shah, and provided relief in form of food, medicine, education, vocational training centers for women, and financial assistance to thousands of families.

  • Relief Efforts for Refugees, The War on Terror had profound effects on the residents in Northern areas in Pakistan. Forced to leave their homes in Malakand Division, Swat, Dir and Buner these refugees fled to the plains. Thousands of families were displaced. ABWT was quick to respond to the pleas of people in this time of need, setting up tent villages at Shah Dund Baba in Mardan and helped 1000 families till they could move back to their houses that they had to abandon earlier.

  • ESTABLISHMENT OF AMEER BEGUM GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL, BOONGI RAAM SINGH, Ameer Begum Girls High School, Boongi Ram Singh is our adoption in 2012 which we were able to gain with the collaboration of Japan Embassy through their Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (GGP).

Projects Umrah Sadat Project & Turkish Embassy helpThe USEFP organized GRE workshop The Embassy of Norway support

  • In the year 2013, Ameer Begum Welfare Trust Introduced the Umrah Sadat Project to fulfill the wishes of those who can’t afford but have desire to perform Umrah.

    The Turkish Embassy provided ABWT with 200 ration bags to be distributed to the needy people in year of 2013.
  • The USEFP organized GRE workshop of ABWT’s students in October, 2013 for scholarships in USA.
  • The Embassy of Norway supported ABWT in our 9th Collective Marriages Ceremony 25 Couples organized at the Avari Hotel Lahore on December 2013.

ProjectsESTABLISHMENT OF AMEER BEGUM GIRLS HIGH SCHOOL, BOONGI RAAM SINGH

  • In 2014, Mr. Mustafa Giray Taizal Country Head (TIKA), Mehmood Saeed (TIKA) and Chairperson Rubina Shaheen Wattoo Inaugurated the Ameer Begum Vocational Training Institute Wasawewala.

    On 14 November 2014, Punjab Vocational Training Council (PVTC) and Ameer Begum Welfare Trust have entered a Mutual Co-operation Agreement, pursuing the betterment of the Vocational Training Institute. The institute also gives a Stipend of RS. 500 per trainee per month in addition to uniform and reading material.

  • ABWT Established Ramadan Iftar Dastarkhwan in 2014.every year in the holy Month of Ramadan to serve underprivileged Muslims with food to break their fast (Iftar). By The grace of Allah.

  • The Australian High Commission has provided funding under Commission’s Direct Aid Program (DAP) to ABWT for purchasing two dialysis machines for our Kidney Dialysis Centre in Depalpur. A new ward for non-hepatitis patients has been set up with this aid.

    ABWT started its struggle and Campaign in 2014 to provide less privileged communities safe drinking water.

Projects Water Purification CampaignEmbassy of Japan Grant Provision King Abdullah Relief Program

  • In 2015, a “Water Purification Campaign” was started to ensure maximum provision of clean drinking water for the poor.

  • The embassy of Japan provided a Grant for 6 water Filtration plants. Recognizing water crisis as an important issue, we at ABWT made it a priority to correct this problem by targeting rural areas suffering from the supply of unhealthy water.

  • The Saudi Arabia, King Abdullah Relief Program provided ABWT with 1000 stationary bags for the girls studying at Ameer Begum Welfare Trust schools in year 2015.

  • In 2016, The German Embassy with Dr Cyril´s Agency provided a Grant for 2 water filtration plants that were installed on 23rd Feb, 2016.

  • On 28 May 2016 Mr. Mustafa Giray Tezel (Country Head TIKA) sponsored Computer Course classes in Ameer Begum Vocational Training Institute wasawewala. As well in addition to offering courses on social entrepreneurship so that the young women can work and manage their business independent.
